Registration for the second annual half marathon INTERPIPE Dnipro Half Marathon 2017, which will take place in Dnipro on May 28, has begun. It was reported by Run Ukraine, the organizer of the half marathon.
In 2017 the organizers plan to gather 2,600 participants and 8,000 spectators at INTERPIPE Dnipro Half Marathon. The fans of running will compete for the prize fund of 50,000 UAH. The winners of the race on the course of 21.075 km among men and women will receive 5,000 UAH each. For the first time the half marathon will include a City Cup, determining winners on the course of 21.0975 km among the residents of Dnipro. There will also be free races for students (University Cup), representatives of security services (Security Cup) and industrial workers (Steel Cup). INTERPIPE Dnipro Half Marathon 2017 will be a large-scale running event that will bring together fans of running from different cities of Ukraine and abroad.

In 2017 we will expand our social responsibility within the half marathon – we will organize free races for students, security services and industrial workers. The program of the half marathon plans to include four major individual races on the courses of 21.0975 km, 10 km, 5 km and 2 km. Traditionally, the organizers of the half marathon invite young participants to try themselves in the children’s races at 1,000 m, 500 m and 100 m. Participation of children in the event on these courses is free.
For the second year in a row INTERPIPE Dnipro Half Marathon is supported by the Dnipro City Council, Dnipro Athletics Federation and its president – Maryna Filatova, who in 2016 overcame the course of 21 km. Dnipro half marathon is one of the five phases of the running league Run Ukraine Running League 2017, which includes races in four cities of Ukraine. In 2016 the League was attended by over 15 thousand runners from 50 countries. In 2017 the organizers plan to expand the geography of audience of the members of the League.
“In 2016 we were able to not just create a few local urban races, but form a national product, which will worthily represent our country in the international race arena. In 2017, the League will expand its categories and the winners will be determined separately for professions. We think there will be many fans of running from Dnipro among the finalists. In recent years, the city has formed an active running community. We plan to expand it and motivate to victory and continued participation in other international running events, “- commented Dmytro Chernitskyi, the General Manager Run Ukraine.
